Largest crocodile found

by Cathy Pantoja

Lolong was captured alive in Agusan del Sur last September 2, 2011 weighing one ton, measuring 21 feet or 6.4 meters long from snout to tail is believed to be the largest crocodile in the world. The crocodile was caught after three weeks of hunting, local farm villagers saw the giant crocodile killing a water buffalo a month before the crocodile was captured in which villagers believe that Lolong is responsible for the loss a fisherman. Lolong beats the record or the Australian salt-water crocodile which is 18 feet long. It took 100 men before they were able to pull out this largest crocodile.

After capturing the largest crocodile, the community was relieved but not really sure if this is the man-eater in their village, because there have been other sightings of other crocodiles in the area.
